Avalon Mill
Click on an image to enlarge it
The brand new Avalon mill ready for production. It was suppoised to be one of the largest if not the largest textile plant in North Carolina. The mill rose to 125 feet with 4 stories. The mill was 175 feet long, and 104 wide wide. While the front and rear walls of the mill were brick, the end walls were of wood construction. Wood was used in the end walls to make further expansion easier.
