Stuff around the Mill Site
Click on an image to enlarge it
You never have to look far to find a brick around here. The front and rear wall of the mill were made from brick. Today these bricks are scattered all over the place. From the size of some of the chunks laying around the walls were very thick.
There isn't a shortage of scrap steel laying around either. This stuff may or may not have been part of the mill. A lot of the junk laying around appears to have just been dumped here over the years.
This is an interesting thing made from steel. I don't have a clue as to what it was once part of. Yes, that is a yellow school bus in the background.
This Chevy truck has seen a bad day.
A once insulated steel tank with a door cut in the front. Perhaps is being used as storage. There were a couple of other tanks laying around. Maybe one of them is the water tank from the rope tower that kept water pressure on the sprinkler system for the mill.
Here's a valve actuator going to something underground. There is also a manhole nearby. I'm not sure what the valve would be for. The manhole may have provided access to the channel of water than ran from the bullkhead, under the mill.
